Case Study work

My case study work is based in technical sectors - Water and Sanitation (WASH) and sustainable energy.

It required an ability to research and understand complex technical information, and in turn break it down into easy to read, engaging stories.

mWater

Client

Whilst working as staff writer for mWater, a SaaS company in the water and sanitation sector, I was asked to create case studies and blogs for thought leadership and relationship building purposes.

Challenge

The case studies involved interviewing mWater experts in developing countries, and turning the interviews into case studies that were informative and enjoyable to read.

Solution

I built the interviews around a set of questions designed to delve deeply into the interviewee’s experiences. My questions are based around a ‘challenge - solution - results’ structure. Because the WASH sector is a very technical one, I did extensive research beforehand, to make sure I understood the acronyms and sector context.

I focused on making the interview a VIP experience, for these valued experts who were giving up their time to talk to me. This helped them to relax, and become more willing to open up and chat about their experiences.

EP Connect

EP Connect wanted to increase awareness of their ESCO In A Box energy solution. They commissioned me to interview leaders from four of their most successful partnerships, and create case studies which they could use in their marketing.

This one was about their partnership with Devon County Council in the UK.

Because the renewable energy sector has very technical elements, I did extensive research beforehand, to make sure I understood the acronyms and sector context. This made it a lot easier to dig into the stories beneath the technical information.
